Mellow Hub is a ManyChat alternative when what you use ManyChat for is Instagram’s comment-to-DM: someone comments a word, gets a public reply and one private message with your link, plus keyword replies in direct messages. Hub does that on every plan, priced by brand profiles rather than by contacts, and the same subscription publishes to 10 networks, designs carousels and thumbnails in Creative Studio, and lets an AI agent work over MCP.
It does not replace ManyChat’s flow builder. ManyChat does far more inside a conversation: buttons and quick replies, multi-step flows, collecting emails and phone numbers, broadcasts, a shared team inbox, and channels beyond Instagram. If your automation lives in those, ManyChat is the stronger tool and this page will not pretend otherwise.

What a month costs when a reel takes off
Say one reel brings 1,000 people to comment your word in a month, and each gets the private message. At ManyChat that is 1,000 Active Contacts that month: more than Essential’s 250 and fewer than Pro’s 2,500, so either Essential at $17 a month plus ManyChat’s charge for each contact beyond the included ones, or Pro at $39 a month ($29 billed yearly). At Mellow Hub it is the plan you already have: Solo at $19 a month, whatever the number of people. The comparison only holds for this one job; the rest of what ManyChat’s plan buys has no counterpart in Hub.
What ManyChat does that Mellow Hub does not
- Conversations, not one message. Its Flow Builder continues after the private reply: buttons, quick replies, questions, conditions, delays and follow-ups. Hub sends one message per comment and stops.
- Lead capture and contacts. Emails and phone numbers collected in the chat, contacts with tags and custom fields, integrations with other tools. Hub keeps no contact list.
- More triggers. Story replies and mentions, Live comments, ads, links that open a chat, and new followers.
- More channels. Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok, Telegram, SMS and email beside Instagram.
- Broadcasts and AI conversations from its Pro plan, inside Meta’s rules for who may be messaged.
- A team. Several users by plan and a shared inbox with assignments on the higher plans.
What Mellow Hub adds that ManyChat does not
- Publishing. One post to 10 networks — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, Facebook and Telegram — scheduled, with each network’s limits checked before sending; and a warning when a caption asks people to comment a word no rule listens for.
- Creative Studio. AI-designed Instagram carousels, YouTube thumbnails, banners and avatars, with AI credits included in the plan; captions and hashtags are written by AI at no credit cost.
- An AI agent that works for you. Claude, ChatGPT or your own agent can set rules, read and answer comments and messages, and publish, over MCP, within the accounts, mode, daily ceiling and expiry you approve. Every action is in a journal you can revoke from.
- A price that does not count people. A comment-heavy month costs what a quiet one does.
Moving a comment-to-DM automation from ManyChat
- Write down each ManyChat comment automation you want to keep: the post, the words, the public replies and the private message.
- In Mellow Hub, open Auto-replies and connect the Instagram account, allowing comments and messages.
- Make one rule per automation: the post or every post, the same words, up to 5 public replies and the private message, with its link in the text.
- Turn the ManyChat automation off for those words, then press Turn on in Hub. Two tools on the same word would both reply in public, and Instagram takes only one private reply per comment.
- Answer the comments that came in between: Auto-replies counts those from the last 7 days, and Reply to all answers them oldest first.

When Meta’s free automations are enough
If you need a reply to direct messages that contain a few exact words, and you work on a computer, Meta Business Suite’s Inbox automations cost nothing: custom keywords answer messages with up to 5 keywords or phrases, matched exactly, after 15 minutes unless you answer first, and “Comment to message” answers comments that contain specific hashtags. Both are on the desktop version only. A tool such as ManyChat or Mellow Hub is for words rather than hashtags under posts and reels, for answering at once, and for doing it from a phone or an agent.

Is Mellow Hub a ManyChat alternative?
For Instagram comment-to-DM and keyword replies in direct messages, yes: a word in a comment gets a public reply and one private message, on every Hub plan. For ManyChat’s flow builder, buttons, lead capture, broadcasts, team inbox and its other channels, no: Hub has none of those.
Is Mellow Hub cheaper than ManyChat?
It depends on what grows. ManyChat is priced by Active Contacts, the people it talks to in a month: Essential is $17 a month with 250 included and Pro $39 with 2,500, as its pricing page showed on 27 October 2026. Mellow Hub is priced by brand profiles, from $19 a month, however many people comment, and the plan also publishes to 10 networks.
Does Mellow Hub have a flow builder like ManyChat?
No. A rule sends one public reply and one private message to a comment, or one answer to a direct message. There are no buttons, quick replies, questions, tags or follow-up sequences. ManyChat’s Flow Builder does all of that.
Can I use ManyChat and Mellow Hub together?
Yes, on different words or posts. Do not point both at the same word on the same post: both would reply in public, and Instagram accepts only one private reply per comment, so the second tool’s message would be refused.
Does Mellow Hub answer WhatsApp, Messenger or TikTok messages?
No. Its comment and message automation is Instagram only. It publishes posts to 10 networks, but conversations on other channels are ManyChat’s ground.
Is comment-to-DM allowed by Instagram?
Yes, through Instagram’s official API, which both ManyChat and Mellow Hub use: one private reply to each comment within 7 days of it, and messages to a person only within 24 hours of their last message. Neither tool may message people who did not write first.
