AI Instagram carousel generator: a designed set of slides from one brief
Describe an Instagram carousel and Creative Studio designs every slide, words included: 2–10 slides, 32 credits for three, then schedule it.
By Mellow · UpdatedHow does the AI carousel generator work?
In Mellow Hub’s Creative Studio you describe the carousel in a sentence or two. An art director, itself a language model, writes the story slide by slide and a design system for the whole set, in one of 12 art directions picked for your topic, or in the look of a post you upload. Then every slide is drawn as a finished graphic with its words set in the design, and the words are proofread. You choose 2 to 10 slides, 4:5 (1080 × 1350) for Instagram or square, and pay 2 credits for the story plus 10 a slide: 32 for three. The result goes into a post draft, onto your schedule or into a download.
What it makes
Three of the Studio’s carousel looks. The second and third slide of each set were designed from its cover on 7 October 2026 the way the Studio designs every slide, with the same image model and prompt; the copy was written for the example, and everything on the slides is fictional. 640-pixel copies, nothing retouched. In the Studio a look is a style you borrow for your own topic.
Three ways to make a carousel
| Mode | What you get | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| AI design | Every slide a finished graphic, words included, in one of 12 art directions or the look of a post you upload; 2 to 10 slides | 2 + 10 a slide |
| Panorama | One continuous scene cut into 3 to 5 slides at 4:5, every word set by code over it, so the words come out exactly as written | 2 + 10 a slide |
| Your photos, or Text & layout | AI-written slides around your own photos, or text you lay out, in editable layouts you can change slide by slide | 2 |
Write the brief: say what each slide is for
A carousel is read one swipe at a time, so the brief works best when it says what the first slide promises, what each slide after it adds, and where it ends. Name the reader, give the facts the slides must use, and leave out what you have not checked: the Studio does not invent prices or results, and it cannot know yours.
Five slides for small bakery owners: how to plan a week of Instagram posts in one hour.
Slide 1 the promise, slides 2–4 one step each (pick three photos, write three captions,
schedule them), slide 5 a takeaway. Warm, friendly, no prices.Make one, step by step
- Open Creative Studio, in the profile the post is for, and choose Carousels.
- Describe the carousel in one prompt: who it is for, what each slide should say, and the facts it must use.
- Pick a style card, one of the 12 art directions, or leave Auto, or upload a post whose look you want; set the number of slides (2 to 10) and the format under Customize.
- Create it. The total, 2 credits for the story and 10 for each designed slide, is shown before you start.
- Read every slide. To change one, edit its words and press Redesign slide (10 credits): it is drawn again in the same style.
- Save it as a post draft, schedule it to Instagram and your other networks, or download the slides.
A job keeps running if you close the tab, and a generation that fails gives its credits back; finished slides are kept.
What it costs
| What | Credits |
|---|---|
| A designed carousel of three slides | 32 |
| Five slides | 52 |
| Ten slides | 102 |
| Redesigning one slide | 10 |
| Your photos, or Text & layout | 2 |
| The caption and hashtags | No credits |
Every plan includes AI credits each month: Solo 300, about 9 three-slide carousels; Studio 750, about 23 three-slide carousels; Scale 1,500, about 46 three-slide carousels. The 7-day trial includes 40 credits. Included credits renew monthly, credit packs never expire, and the same subscription publishes to 10 networks and answers Instagram comments with a DM. See plans and AI credits.
Then post it
Save the carousel as a post draft and Mellow Hub sends it to the networks you choose, checking each one’s limits first: Instagram takes up to 10 items in a carousel post through its API, TikTok up to 35 photos, LinkedIn up to 20 images and Threads up to 20. A 4:5 set suits Instagram and LinkedIn; TikTok’s photo posts are usually vertical, so make a 9:16 version for it. To turn the carousel into conversations, ask for a word in the caption and let a comment-to-DM rule send the link.
From Claude, ChatGPT or your own agent
The Studio is also a set of MCP tools: studio_list, studio_quote, studio_generate, studio_job, studio_save, studio_export. studio_quote says what a request will cost; studio_generate needs the ai:generate permission, a maxCredits cap and an idempotency key, so a retried call is never charged twice; studio_export turns the slides into media for a post. The key or app you approved carries a daily credit ceiling, and nothing is published until a post is created.

Spend at most 52 credits. Show me the slides before creating any post. What it will not do
- Promise reach, saves or followers. Nothing here is a prediction of how a post will do.
- Check your facts. It writes from the brief; prices, dates and results are yours to supply and to read back.
- Let you retype a designed slide for free. Its words are part of the picture, so a new wording is a redesign; for slides you edit by hand, use Your photos or Text & layout.
- Get every letter right every time. Read each slide before it goes out.

Questions
Is the AI carousel generator free?
No. A designed carousel costs 2 credits for its story plus 10 for each slide, so 32 for three slides. Credits come with every Mellow Hub plan, and the 7-day trial includes 40, enough for one three-slide carousel. Without an account, the free carousel maker lays out slides from your own words, without AI.
Does it write the words on the slides?
Yes. The words are part of each designed slide, set in its design and then proofread. Read every slide anyway: an image model can still misspell a word, and Redesign slide fixes one without remaking the rest.
What sizes does it make for Instagram?
1080 × 1350 for a 4:5 Instagram carousel, 1080 × 1080 square, and 1080 × 1920 for 9:16. Instagram takes up to 10 items in one carousel post through its API.
Can it make a carousel in Russian or another language?
Yes: it writes in the language of your prompt. Latin and Cyrillic lettering were checked; Arabic and Hebrew are not covered by the Panorama look’s fonts.
Can Claude or ChatGPT make carousels with it?
Yes, over MCP: studio_list, studio_quote, studio_generate, studio_job, studio_save, studio_export. A call that spends credits needs the ai:generate permission, a maxCredits cap and an idempotency key, within the key’s daily credit ceiling, and nothing is published until a post is created.
Will an AI carousel get more reach?
Nobody can promise that, and this page does not. The Studio designs and proofreads the slides; what people do with them is measured afterwards, in Hub’s results for the post.
