Can Claude post to Instagram for you?
Short answer
Yes, through a connector. Claude has no Instagram account of its own, but on every Claude plan it can use a custom connector, a remote MCP server, that publishes for it. Through Mellow Hub’s, Claude writes the caption, checks the post against Instagram’s rules and publishes or schedules it on the accounts you allow: in review mode only after you approve each post, on autopilot within the daily limit you set. Without a connector, Claude can still write the caption, and you post it yourself or schedule it in Instagram’s own app.
What it takes
- An Instagram professional account. Instagram publishes through its API only for Creator and Business accounts (Meta for Developers), so the same is true of every tool that posts for you, whoever drives it.
- A connector in Claude. Anthropic offers custom connectors on its Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, on the web and in the desktop app. Free accounts can add one (Claude Help Center).
- A service behind the connector that publishes. Mellow Hub is one: it connects your Instagram through Instagram’s own sign-in, never your password, and publishes to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest and Facebook as well. The Claude guide shows the connection step by step.
Who says the final yes
When Claude connects, Hub’s consent screen asks you what it may do:
| You choose | What it means |
|---|---|
| Accounts | Only the accounts you tick. Claude cannot reach the others. |
| Review | Claude prepares each post and it waits until you approve it in Hub’s Posts screen. |
| Autopilot | Posts go out at the times Claude sets, without asking again. |
| Daily limit | From 1 to 1,000 posts a day. Past it, Claude’s next post is refused. |
| How long | No end date, or 1 to 365 days. |
Every post Claude creates is recorded with its name in Hub’s journal, and taking the access back in Agents stops it on its next request. Posts it has already scheduled stay scheduled, and you can cancel them in Posts.
What Claude can do through Mellow Hub
- Write and check the post. Claude writes the caption and Hub checks it before anything is sent: up to 2,200 characters and 5 hashtags on Instagram, the media type and count, a title where a network needs one. Every problem comes back at once, with the network named.
- Schedule it. Claude sets a date and time and Hub publishes then, whether or not the chat is still open. It can move or cancel a post that hasn’t gone out.
- Make the pictures. Creative Studio designs carousel slides and covers from a short brief, on AI credits; the slides are yours to change before they go out.
- Post the same thing elsewhere. One post can go to every network you connected, with its own caption where one is shorter.
- Read how your posts did. Claude can read the views and likes the networks report for your own recent posts, and how one post did on each network.
What it doesn’t do
- It doesn’t look at anyone else’s account. Hub reads only your own posts, so Claude can’t find other people’s viral reels or trends through it.
- It doesn’t answer comments or messages. Hub publishes, schedules and reads your results; replies stay in Instagram.
- It doesn’t make video. Creative Studio makes still images; a reel is a video you or another tool made.
Hub is paid: plans start at $19 a month (Solo), after a 7-day trial with a card on file that costs nothing if you cancel before it ends, and a monthly plan's first month is 20% off. Publishing is unlimited on every plan, under a fair-use ceiling that stops automated floods (900 publications a month on Solo). One publication is one post on one account, so a post sent to five networks counts as five. There are no automatic overage charges.
On 24 September 2026 we connected Claude on claude.ai in review mode, with access to one Instagram account, three posts a day and one day of access. Claude checked a post, was told it needed media, added an image and created the post, which waited for approval and was published to Instagram within about a minute of it. After the access was revoked, Claude’s next request was refused.
Questions people also ask
Is it safe to let Claude post to my Instagram?
You decide how far it goes: which accounts, review or autopilot, a daily limit and an end date, all on Hub’s consent screen. Every post it creates is recorded in Hub’s journal, and revoking its access in Agents stops the next request.
Does Claude need my Instagram password?
No. You connect Instagram to Mellow Hub through Instagram’s own sign-in screen, and Claude connects to Hub through Hub’s. Neither sees your Instagram password.
Does it work on Claude’s free plan?
Claude’s Free plan can add one custom connector, which is enough for Mellow Hub. Hub itself is paid, after a free trial.
Can ChatGPT post to Instagram the same way?
Yes. ChatGPT connects to Mellow Hub through the same consent screen, with the same choices of accounts, mode and limits. The ChatGPT guide shows how.
Will Instagram know that Claude wrote the post?
Instagram receives the post through its official publishing API, as it would from any scheduling tool. Whether you or Claude wrote the caption isn’t part of what is sent.
