What size are LinkedIn images: posts, banners and covers?

Short answer

From LinkedIn’s own help: a profile background is 1584 × 396 pixels, under 8 MB; a company page cover is 1512 × 256 and a page logo 400 × 400, each under 3 MB; post photos should be 1080 pixels wide, anywhere from 3:1 to 4:5, under 5 MB, up to 20 in a post; and a link image is 1200 × 627. The company cover changed: many guides still say 1128 × 191.

Photos in a post: which shape

LinkedIn takes anything from 3:1 (wide) to 4:5 (tall). Tall images fill more of the feed on a phone, so 1080 × 1350 (4:5) is the one to choose when the picture allows it; 1080 × 1080 is the safe square. Photos can’t be resized or edited after the post is published, so check them before posting.

Banners and covers: what gets hidden

Your profile photo covers part of the background’s lower left, and phones show the banner at a different shape from computers. Keep words and faces toward the middle and the right of a 1584 × 396 banner, and check it on both. A company cover at 1512 × 256 is a thin strip; a logo or a single line of text reads best there.

Posting images to LinkedIn with Mellow Hub

Hub posts up to 20 images or one video to a LinkedIn profile or company page, with the text LinkedIn requires, and can send the same images to Instagram, Threads or Facebook in the same post. It checks the number of images and the text before anything is sent; LinkedIn judges the image files themselves.

Hub is paid: plans start at $19 a month (Solo), after a 7-day trial with a card on file that costs nothing if you cancel before it ends, and a monthly plan's first month is 20% off. Publishing is unlimited on every plan, under a fair-use ceiling that stops automated floods (900 publications a month on Solo). One publication is one post on one account, so a post sent to five networks counts as five. There are no automatic overage charges.
