How to schedule posts on X (Twitter)

Short answer

Yes, you can. X’s help documents two ways: X Pro, the multi-column web app included in X Premium, which lets you schedule posts and keeps them in a Scheduled column; and the Composer in X Ads (ads.x.com), where you write a post, open the arrow next to Post, pick a date and time and select Schedule, for organic posts as well as promoted ones. To schedule the same post to other networks, or from an AI assistant, use a scheduling tool.

In X Pro

From X’s help on X Pro, read on 1 October 2026: X Pro shows several timelines side by side and adds features such as managing several accounts and scheduling posts for the future. Your scheduled posts appear in a Scheduled column you can add to your layout. X Pro comes with an X Premium subscription.

In the X Ads Composer

From X’s help on scheduled posts:

  1. Sign in at ads.x.com and open Composer.
  2. Write the post with its text, photos, videos or cards.
  3. Open the arrow next to Post, choose the date and time, and select Schedule.
  4. Manage scheduled posts under Posts, switching the view to Scheduled, where you can edit or delete them.

A scheduled post isn’t visible on X until its time, and it keeps the timestamp you chose. You need an X Ads account to use the Composer; an organic post scheduled there is not promoted.

On x.com and in the app

The compose box on x.com in a browser has offered a schedule option in the past, but X’s current How to Post page doesn’t mention it, so look for it in your own compose box before relying on it. X’s help describes no scheduling in the mobile app.

With a scheduling tool

A tool connects your X account through X’s API, keeps the post and publishes it at the time. It also sends the same post to other networks, each within its own limit, and lets an AI assistant schedule for you.

Scheduling X posts with Mellow Hub

Hub schedules a post to X on its own, or with LinkedIn, Threads, Instagram and the rest in one request, giving X its own shorter caption where the others are longer. It checks X’s rules before anything is sent: text of up to 280 characters, up to 4 images or one video, or a poll. You need no X developer account. Claude or ChatGPT can do the same through Hub’s MCP server (the X guide).

  1. Create a Hub account.
  2. Connect your accounts in Channels. Each network’s own sign-in screen opens, so Hub never sees a password. Bluesky is the exception: Hub connects it with your handle and an app password, which you can revoke in Bluesky’s settings.
  3. Write the post in Compose, choose the channels and add the media. Where one network’s limit is shorter, give that network its own caption. The composer can shorten it for you.
  4. Hub checks every network’s rules before anything is sent: caption length, media count and type, a required title or board. It lists every problem at once, naming the network.
  5. Publish now or pick a time. Each network succeeds or fails on its own and returns its own link.

Hub is paid: plans start at $19 a month (Solo), after a 7-day trial with a card on file that costs nothing if you cancel before it ends, and a monthly plan's first month is 20% off. Publishing is unlimited on every plan, under a fair-use ceiling that stops automated floods (900 publications a month on Solo). One publication is one post on one account, so a post sent to five networks counts as five. There are no automatic overage charges.
