What size should a picture be on each social network?
For a feed post, 1080 × 1350 (4:5) is inside what Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads and Bluesky publish; Meta recommends 4:5 for Facebook Feed too, at least 1440 × 1800 for ads. A Story is 1080 × 1920 (9:16), a Pinterest Pin 1000 × 1500 (2:3) and a YouTube thumbnail 3840 × 2160 (16:9). Covers: a LinkedIn profile 1584 × 396, a LinkedIn Page 1512 × 256 and a Facebook Page 851 × 315. Choose a picture above and the point to keep in view, and download every size at once; nothing leaves your device.

Every figure is from the network’s own page, read on 7 October 2026; the sources are listed at the end. Where a network publishes no pixel size, as X, Threads and Bluesky don’t, and Meta doesn’t for an ordinary Facebook photo post, the table says so, and the resizer makes a size inside what the network does publish. A size that serves several networks is kept under the smallest file limit among them.
Cutting one picture for every network
- Choose what to keep in view. The sizes run from a 5.9:1 LinkedIn Page cover to a 9:16 Story, so each one loses a different part of the picture. Move the point onto the face or the product, and every size is cut around it.
- Start from a large picture. The largest size here is the 3840 × 2160 YouTube thumbnail. When a size would be enlarged, its card says how large a picture would make it sharp.
- Mind the file limits. Bluesky’s documentation gives 1,000,000 bytes per image on one page, a Facebook Page cover loads fastest under 100 KB, and YouTube takes 2 MB from a phone. Each file is made under the limits of the networks it serves.
- Keep words and faces near the middle of a cover. LinkedIn advises keeping key details away from the edges of a Page cover, which may be trimmed to fit a screen, and on a phone Facebook’s profile picture overlaps a Page cover.

Questions
What is the best image size for all social media?
For a feed post, 1080 × 1350 (4:5): it is inside what Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads and Bluesky publish, and Meta recommends 4:5 for single-image ads in Facebook Feed as well. For Stories, 1080 × 1920 (9:16). One picture cannot be every size, which is why the resizer cuts each one from it around the point you choose.
Does Facebook publish a size for photo posts?
Not for an ordinary photo post. For single-image ads in Facebook Feed, Meta recommends 4:5 at no less than 1440 × 1800, and at least 1080 × 1080 for 1:1. A Page cover loads fastest at 851 × 315 and under 100 KB, which is the cover the resizer makes.
What size is an image on X?
X publishes no pixel size. It shows a single photo whole when its shape is between 2:1 and 3:4, and takes photos up to 5 MB; the resizer’s 4:5 and 1:1 posts are inside that range.
Why does the resizer say my picture is enlarged?
Because the part cut for that size has fewer pixels than the size itself, so it is stretched to fill it and looks soft. Each size says how large a picture would make it sharp; a larger picture fixes it.
Is my picture uploaded anywhere?
No. The picture is opened and cut on this page, and the ZIP is made on your own device; nothing is sent to Mellow or anyone else. If you press the button to schedule it, the size you chose is kept in this browser until you are signed in to Mellow Hub, and it goes into your first post only when you use it there.

Post the picture to every network at once
Mellow Hub sends one post to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest and Facebook, with each network’s own caption where you want one, and checks each network’s rules before anything is sent. It does not resize pictures, so send the size that suits the networks you post to; the image sizes for every network are on one page.
